Glory Day: David Haas and Friends in Concert

David Haas
4.9/5 (15175 ratings)
Description:In 1996, Franciscan Media asked me to present a concert featuring my liturgical music, and to bring some of my very talented friends and fellow musicians to join me. While my music is intended for liturgical prayer, this was an opportunity for evangelization and a way celebrate the gift of sung prayer in a fresh way. Under the collaborative sponsorship of Franciscan Media, GIA Publications, and the Emmaus Center for Music, Prayer, and Ministry, we gathered together at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati one October evening to present “Glory Day”—a wonderful festival celebration of music, prayer, conversion, and mission.   The concert included some well-known songs (“Blest Are They,” “We Are Called,” “Song of the Body of Christ,” and “You Are Mine”), along with three brand-new songs composed just for the event (“Perfect Charity,” “Glory Day,” and “The Story of God”). I was grateful then for the friends who joined me: Lori True, Kate Cuddy, David Fischer, Tom Franzak, Bobby Fisher, Stephen Petrunak, Dik Hedlund, Gordy Knudtson, Marc Anderson, Joe Camacho, Jean Bross-Judge, Donna Anderle, Sarah Hudetz, and two blessed saints who have since moved into the light with God: Derek Campbell and Bob Piercy, Jr. I was thankful, too, for Lisa Biedenbach (who had the original idea), Fr. Jeremy Harrington, OFM, Ronald Riegler, Fr. Greg Friedman, OFM, Alec Harris, Steve Wiese, Lynn Peterson, Mary Jane Moore, Fr. James Bessert, Jeffrey Judge, and Dan Kantor. Thanks to God and in gratitude to God’s holy people, we are now making this concert available for the first time on DVD.   Twenty years later, I am even more grateful. And we are all, still, bound for that Glory Day!   We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
