A Journal of Unresolved Grief

Steven Lower
4.9/5 (25810 ratings)
Description:My wife Kathy passed away in June 2001 after a battle with cancer. This journal started out as a story of Kathy and my life together. As time went by, though, it also became a story of my inability to grieve, to get past Kathy’s death and get on with my life. As time went by I sank into a deep depression. Because I was no longer able to live on my own anymore, in January 2007 I moved in with friends, my “Oklahoma family.” During the next 5½ years I continued to struggle with depression related to my unresolved grief over Kathy’s death. I also struggled with post traumatic stress from my service in the Army during the Vietnam War. Then, in September 2012, I had a complete emotional meltdown. I was hospitalized and eventually placed in an outpatient psychiatric treatment program, Senior Concepts, a service of Cushing Regional Hospital. There I was treated for major depressive disorder, anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). After release I did well on my own for a year and a half, until January 2015, when I was in need of psychiatric treatment once again. I was admitted to Senior Life Solutions, a psychiatric service of Drumright Regional Hospital, again for severe depression, anxiety disorder and PTSD. As of this writing (October 2015) I am still undergoing treatment and attending group therapy in that program. In this second edition to my “Journal of Unresolved Grief” I have left much of the original content unchanged. I have changed how the photos are arranged to make them larger and less distracting. I have added some new material, and edited the text where needed to make it read better. I hope that these changes make the book easier to read.We have made it easy for you to find a PDF Ebooks without any digging.
