Description:Seventieth Avenue is a poetry book by Suzzette Dawes who made a U-turn in life returning to South Florida where she reflects and grows with her adventures in South Florida and her travels.In South Florida, she watched Sam Riley and Walter Salles’ movie “On The Road” at Cinema Paradiso where she volunteers and hosts poetry readings. She not only watched it but fixated on the mother (and some other characters) which she pays homage in poems. She reflected on her own journey from university to moving and living in New Jersey and having to come home back to Florida to her mother. In addition to volunteering, she is active in the Broward poetry scene and often participates in workshops led by Anastasia Clark, Broward’s poet-in-residence.
