"Full as only a Siamese female can be", says the author, "of the fact that she'd been Longer with Us than He Had, Hadn't She? and anyway we Liked Her Better", Shebalu alternates between encouraging Saska in his speciality of opening the cooker grill to extract defrosting chops and sausages, and luring him to climb to high places from which she knows perfectly well he can't get down.For all the trouble they cause they are nevertheless an enchanting pair and it is not surprising that the Toveys decide to buy a caravan so they can take the cats on holiday with them: a decision continually frustrated by the waywardness of the cats.
