Description:This is biography of a most remarkable man, Dr. Harvey Saburo Hayashi. Born in Aizu Wakamatsu, presently Fukushima Prefucture in Japan during the final years of the Edo Period, he is there when his Aizu domain falls. As a toddler, he and his fellow defeated clansmen make the hostile trek from Aizu Wakamatsu to the harsh wintery lands of Aomori at the northern tip of Honshu. Then he decided to become a doctor.
