Description:Between the two World Wars, the Royal Navy's carriers were provided with aircraft flown by flights and later squadrons of what was then the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Air Force. In addition, many battleships and cruisers were provided in the thirties with an aircraft or two fitted with floats and launched from catapults.
