It will ever stand as a reminder to all, that the citizens realize to how great an extent the beauty and advantages of Fairhaven are due to his thoughtfulness and generosity. The design for the monument was made and presented by the firm of Brigham, Coveney, and Bisbee, architects, of Boston. The shaft was erected in the fall of 1911 and the formal dedication took place in the town hall on the evening of January 29, 1912, the anniversary of the birth of Mr. Rogers.
